Piston
ADVANTATGES of the oleopneumatic accumulators piston type
a) Larger oil volume efficiency because of the following reasons:
- It can discharge all the accumulated oil.
- The relation (max.pressure)/(min. pressure) can be up to 25.
- The gas is directly in contact with the steel body and the exchange of heat with the external is quicker.
b) High discharge rate - the light weight piston assembly gives a quick response to large changes in fluid demand: the design construction gives the maximum use of the volume of the accumulator coupled with long life. The response time is as fast as 3 miliseconds.
c) Modular construction - an element in our design philosophy- enables us to manufactre many sizes from few basic parts. This gives you -the user- foru major benefits:
- Competitive price - specially when they are used with back-up bottles.
- Accumulators tailored to the exact neeeds of your system.
- Interchangeability of the units.
- Minimum servicing an repair costs.
WHEN YOU SHOULD USE A PISTON ACCUMULATOR
1. In applications where the eventual sudden and total failure of a bag discharging the pressured gas into the system would be dangerous or operationally unacceptable.
2. When you need the low differential pressure obtained from multiple back-up bottles.
3. When the pre-charge pressure is close to the minimum working pressure.
4. When you need high flow rate with minimum pressure drop.
5. When the unit should be repeatedly completely discharged.
WHEN YOU SHOULD NOT USE A PISTON ACCUMULATOR
1. When the total cycle time (recharge + discharge) is less than 1 second.
2. When the contamination level of the system is 75 microns or greater; and when the system fluid is unsuitable to use with a honed mild steeel, stainlees steel or brass bore.
